Are conflicts sapping your energy and eroding your relationships at work, school or home? If so, come explore the dynamics and impact of conflict and learn skills for managing it more effectively.
We’ll begin by examining commonly-held beliefs around conflict, and look at our individual conflict styles and the challenges of interacting with other styles. Then we’ll reflect on own our personal “hot buttons,” and discuss ways to manage them. We’ll practice listening skills, with a focus on hearing unspoken communications, and, finally, we’ll discuss tools for confronting others successfully.
Taught by Sarah Knowles and Selden PrenticeWelcome to our community of ADR professionals: mediators, arbitrators, and lawyers representing and advising clients. We are active in the growth and development of ADR in Washington as well as the education of members of the bar and the public.
