The Dispute Resolution Board Presents:
The In-house Mediation Competition
Thurs., March 28, 2013, 5 – 9:30 p.m.
The competition is designed to acquaint law students with advocacy skills in alternative dispute resolution processes, specifically mediation. The focus of this competition is on attorney representation of clients in mediation.
We are looking for judges to provide constructive feedback and commentary the the competitors after their round and your help would be greatly appreciated!
Students will be judged on their advocacy skills by a panel of judges, one of whom will act as the mediator conducting the mediation. The competition consists of two rounds of mediation with different fact patterns. Students will work in teams of two; each student acting as both an attorney and a client to simulate a collaborative mediation where all parties contribute to the discussion.
If you are interested in participating, please contact Lindsey Ward at firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday, March 20th. All necessary information will be e-mailed to you shortly before the competition.
Thank you for your time and assistance! We could not run a successful competition without your help!
