Rina M. Goodman is a skilled, professional, full-time mediator who works with both represented and pro se clients. She holds certificates of completion in commercial, workplace, and federal workplace mediation from the Northern Virginia Mediation Service. After successfully completing an eighteen-month mediation practicum through the King County Dispute Resolution Center, she was certified to mediate civil and family mediations. In 2007, Rina was recognized by the King County (Washington) Dispute Resolution Center as Mediator- of-the-Year.

Prior to her mediation career, Rina worked as a consultant on complex issues in commercial transactions and bankruptcy; served as plaintiffs’ counsel at employment discrimination mediations; and represented plaintiffs in major aviation mass disaster cases. Frustrated by a backlogged civil trial calendar that resulted in lengthy delays for justice for her clients and dissatisfied with the randomness of many judicial decisions, she turned her focus to mediation.

Rina is past chair of Washington State Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section (2011-2012). She is a member of the ADR Subcommittee of the WSBA Task Force on Eliminating Court Costs in Litigation (ECCL) and has been serving on the planning committee for the Annual Northwest Dispute Resolution Conference since 2008. She also volunteers as a mediator for the Seattle Federal Executive Board’s ADR Consortium.

Rina is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College (BA), New York University (MA) and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (JD). She has been an active member of the Washington State Bar since 2004. She was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1994.
