I practiced law in Seattle as a civil litigator from 1975 until I was appointed to the King County Superior Court in 1999. While I was in practice a served as a mediator and arbitrator in many cases.
On the bench I served as Chief Judge of the Maleng Regional Justice Center, Chief Criminal Judge, Assistant Chief Criminal Judge, Chief Judge of Unified Family Court and Assistant Presiding Judge before I retired from the bench in 2017. I presided over thousands of cases including personal injury cases, class actions, medical and other professional negligence, property disputes, family law, commercial law and trusts and estates.
